Until Dianetics and Scientology, no one knew the principles of a successful group any more than they knew the principles of the human mind.

Recognizing that what all too often passes for life in the modern workplace is endless drudgery, inefficiency, insecurity and bureaucratic entanglements, individuals began to utilize the same administrative principles L. WISE itself does no consulting. But individual WISE members who are professional consultants can produce spectacular results when called to help. Another benefit WISE provides its members arises through its issue authority function. WISE serves as the central authority which permits such use and – of equal importance – ensures that the material as published is consistent with Mr. Hubbard’s writings.

THE WISE MEMBER CHARTER COMMITTEE

WISE helps its members maintain high ethical standards by sponsoring local Charter Committees, composed of ethical WISE members, known as Charter members. These committees help create a more ethical business environment by applying Mr. Hubbard’s ethics technology.

Charter Committees are responsible for assisting WISE members in their communities to resolve business disputes that may have arisen between them and other WISE members, or even individuals who are not members of WISE. By applying Mr. Hubbard’s ethics technology to mediate and resolve these disputes, Charter Committees rapidly and fairly dispose of conflicts that otherwise would languish for years – at great cost – in the “normal” legal system. And unlike the parties in a “normal” legal proceeding, both sides in a Charter Committee dispute-resolution proceeding are satisfied with the outcome of their case.

As one WISE member reported: “The thought of a mediation used to cause me to sweat cold bullets . . . Then I got a dispute handling from WISE. The results were amazing. And yes, I felt much better afterwards. But the real bonus was the end result – fairness. Both parties had to confront their own responsibility in the matter and the ethics of the situation was taken into account, not just the technicalities of some obscure law.”

The owners of two large European companies engaged for nearly a decade in a corporate dispute, then met with a WISE Charter Committee mediator, specialist-trained in the application of the ethics technology. He brought the two parties, step by step, to a level of agreement and communication from which they could, with finality, work out their own resolution.

One of the former disputants reported, “To anyone who may be convinced that he has the most flagrant dispute ever – and that it cannot be solved – believe me, there is a way out. And the way out is: standard application of Mr. Hubbard’s technology through standard WISE mediation.”
